Had breakfast, then went took the ferry boat to Antiparos “a five-minute ride, 60 cents for the fare. Collected rosemary leaves and flowers. Short and hard to cut. Took bus at 11 a.m. to the cave. I was sitting in the front seat. It went up the mountains and I could see the sea on the left and mountains in front and on the opposite side. Bought a ticket for 3:50 Euros. Went down 400 steps and up 400 hundred steps. It was a strenuous hike up. Cave was impressive with stalactites and stalagmites. Caught the 12:15 bus back to town and walked around town, in the back streets and looked at the souvenir shops, had an apple pie and iced tea. Took the 2 o’clock ferry back. Could not wait for the bus as it was too hot. So I went back to the hotel, prayed and took a nap. While waiting for the bus, I walked to the beach and collected stones. I took the 4:20 bus to Parikia (the city center where we got off the ferry. I walke

From Athens to Santorini Island

Fri, July 23, 2004:

Woke up at 5 and had breakfast at 5:30. Forget my black jacket and remembered it when I saw Marianna’s daughter wearing her training suit. Left hotel at 6 a.m. to Piraseus Port. Got to the port at 6:30 a.m. Bus could not get close for security reasons. So we all got off and had to drag our luggage in the street. I had my laptop and red shoulder bag on trolly and pulled them in one hind and pulled suit case with the other. Had to go up 2 escalators on the boat. Peter helped store my suitcase in the luggage room. We went to the business lounge, with tables, couches and chairs, smoking and non-smoking sections. Could smell the cigarettes everywhere though. . I sat and worked on my laptop. Only 20 people went to the Island, 10 dropped out. Marianna’s daughter and her friend joined us. I went to theupper deck and took pictures of Piraseus city and port and ferries. Too many cruise ships (vod
