Left hotel at 8 for the City tour (8 to 11:00 a.m.). We went to the Delphi ruins: the Oracle, Way of , Temple of Apollo, the Gymnasium and Theatre and amphitheatre. Theatres are not as intact and big as those in Jordan and Lebanon. It was very spectacular as we went up the hill It was hot. Walked on the tracks on the slope of the mountain to see the ruins. Strenuous walk. Crossed the street and went down the hill where I saw the gymnasium and the Temple of Athina (3 columns with broken stones all around). Walked back to the museum. Strenuous hike along the road. Went to museum. Most parts are closed as museum is new and it is not fully open yet. Only 5 stone remains are displayed. Boarded bus at 11 a.m. and headed south. Road was very scenic. First we drove back down the windy road with the green mountains and olive valley on the left. We crossed the olive trees. We drove along with olive trees on both sides of the road. Then we drove along the coast with the Ionic Sea on the left and green mountains on the right. Summer homes all along the coast. Small islands in the sea. Blue waters with lighter azure colors near the beach.
Stopped for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the beach in Bay. Had Greek salad for lunch then continued driving along the coast. We took the ferry boat with people, bus, cars and trucks on board. Crossed to the other side of the peninsula with the new suspension bridge crossing over. It is not finished yet. A 15-minute ferry ride. Continued to drive along the coast but this time on my right. Saw Patras city with red-roofed houses.
Drove for 2 hours and got to our hotel in Olympia at 4:15. Had a welcome drink, olives, sliced tomatoes, cucumber and carrots.
